About Cassie

A Louisiana native, Cassie attended Duke University where she received her Bachelors Degree in English, Policy Journalism and Media Studies, and Documentary Studies, and then Emerson College in Boston where she received a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Her short stories have been published in The Southern Review and The New Orleans Review, and she is a recipient of the Walker Percy Prize in Short Fiction. Cassie lived in Argentina, Singapore and New Orleans, before returning with her husband to their shared hometown, Lake Providence. They live there with their daughter, Milly. She serves on the board for the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation and is President of Doorway to Louisiana, a local nonprofit committed to community revitalization and restoration.
